“Navillera” by GFriend – KPOP Song of the Week

Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our third for July 2016.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, however we’ve chosen the new release from girl group GFriend. The song is titled “Navillera” (너 그리고 나) and it was released on YouTube on Sunday July 10th, in that short time it’s been viewed over 3million times on the 1theK YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Navillera” for our KPOP song of the week:

• Firstly the song it fun, energetic and in the normal GFriend style.
• Secondly the video is fun and features a cute story line, with matches the concept well.
• Finally GFriend are really popular at the moment mainly with elementary students and university guys. Therefore their songs and live shows are well viewed/attended.
• On the negative side; one of the girls t-shirt in the later routines reads “Everything S**T”, having a rude word doesn’t really work with their image.
