The Yongdudondae Observation Post is a key point of The Gwangseongbo Fortress (광성보), which is located on the eastern coastline of Ganghwa Island north Incheon. (FULL ARTICLE HERE)

Ganghwa Island has a long history much sadly related to wars and battles because of it’s strategic location. Recent history is much nicer and the island has become a popular getaway location for camping, hiking and overnight pensions. The Yongdudondae Observation Post is a nice place to visit if you’re on the island, as it mixes history and great views of the surrounding area.

If you’re driving type in 광성보 on your satnav and you’ll easily find it, it’s 10mins north of the main bridge going onto the island.

Via public transport it isn’t easy, there is a tour bus which leaves Ganghwa Terminal every hour or so. Other than that a mixture of local buses and taxis maybe your best option.
