The K League Challenge reaches the 33rd round out of 44 during this 2016 season, and with the national team in action on Tuesday Evening (Syria vs. South Korea – Details Here) the focus is on the 2nd tier. This is a midweek round and so don’t expect high attendances. The standout game of this round is between two former Classic sides Daejeon Citizen vs. Daegu, this game is key in the playoff race as Daegu sit in 3rd and Daejeon just 2 places below them in 5th. Eyes will also be on the clash between 4th placed Gangwon and league leaders Ansan Mugunghwa.
K League Challenge 2016 League Table Update
The league table has taken shape with Ansan Mugunghwa currently leading the way with an 8 point lead over Bucheon 1995 in 2nd. Daegu and Gangwon complete the playoff places. 5th placed Daejeon down to 8th placed Seoul E-Land all still have a reasonable shot at making the playoffs. At the other end of the table, Goyang and Chungju are both well adrift of the rest now. But fortunately for them there is no relegation this season.
