“Russian Roulette” by Red Velvet – KPOP Song of the Week

Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our Second for September 2016.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, however we’ve chosen the new release from Red Velvet The song is titled “Russian Roulette“. and it was released on YouTube on Tuesday September 6th, in that time it’s been viewed over 7 million times on the SMTOWN YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Russian Roulette” for our KPOP song of the week:

• Firstly the song is catchy and fun, it’s easy to remember and maybe dance along with.
• Secondly the video features a strange horror/comedy angle with is entertaining if a little dark.
• Finally not long ago Red Velvet were a super hyped debut group, and they seem to have lived upto that hype and are now an A-List KPOP group.
• On the negative side; Russian Roulette isn’t the most political correct title for a KPOP Song.
