Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our First for November 2016.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, this week we’ve gone for the new release from Popular Girl Group Mamamoo with a song titled “Décalcomanie“. and it was released on YouTube on Monday November 7th. Here are our reasons for choosing “Décalcomanie” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song unsurprisingly features excellent and powerful vocals as well as a catchy beat.
- Secondly the video is colorful, energictic and has a slight storyline towards the end.
- Finally Mamamoo have slowly gained more support as fans switch to vocal talent over bubblegum pop.
- On the negative side; the song title Décalcomanie (which means decorative technique by which engravings and prints may be transferred to pottery or other materials according to Wikipedia), it’s doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

I do agree – love this song!
Mamamoo’s vocals are why they are in my top 5 kpop girl groups list 🙂
The video is visually stunning too.
