Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our First for February 2017.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, this week we’ve gone for the first release of 2017 from Red Velvet with a song titled “Rookie“. It was released on YouTube on Tuesday January 31st. Here are our reasons for choosing “Rookie” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is simple and catchy.
- Secondly the video is fun, with some almost 80s style usage of green screens.
- Finally Red Velvet in the past 2 years have become one of the A-List KPOP Group with popular hit after hit.
- On the negative side; Are they saying Rookie? Lookey? Cookie? It’s a little muddled.
