The K League Classic enters it’s 7th round of the 2017 season this coming Saturday with a heavy card of fixtures due to upcoming Champions League action. The highlight game is of course the Gyeongin Derby between FC Seoul and Incheon United late Saturday afternoon.

K League Classic 2017 League Table Update
After 6 games the K League Classic league table is starting to take shape. Jeonbuk Hyundai now top the table, a point ahead of Pohang Steelers. Then come Jeju United and FC Seoul. Gangwon, Sangju Sangmu and Ulsan Hyundai makeup the mid-table all tied on 8 points. Then come Daegu, Gwangju and Suwon Bluewings. Finally Jeonnam Dragons and Incheon United both slipping behind and both on just 3 points.
K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Saturday April 22nd – Round 7)
Moving onto the football, here are our brief previews and predictions for this Saturdays 4 games;
Jeju United vs. Daegu @ 3pm
The first game of the day comes from the Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo (Jeju). Jeju United lost last weekend and prior to that had drawn twice, meaning that they’ve dropped off top spot. They did however beat Gimhae City in the cup. Daegu have only won once so far this season, and lost to Challenge side Gyeongnam in the cup.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Jeju United will be favorites to pick up a moral boosting win.
Gangwon vs. Suwon Bluewings @ 3pm
The second game of the day comes from the Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium in Pyeongchang. Gangwon have started to find their groove in recent weeks beating Jeju United last weekend and drawing with now league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai before that. Suwon Bluewings are unbeaten in 7 in all competitions, however 4 of those were draws and 2 wins over Hong Kong side Eastern.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Tight game on paper and therefore a draw seems the likely outcome.
Jeonnam Dragons vs. Ulsan Hyundai @ 3pm
Jeonnam Dragons host the final 3 o’clock game against Ulsan Hyundai. Jeonnam Dragons finally put some points on the board last weekend beating Incheon United 3-1 on the road. They followed that up by beating local rivals Jeonju Citizen (K3 League) in the cup 4-0. Ulsan Hyundai have been inconsistent all season and have found balancing the champions league and league difficult. All they haven’t won away all season.
Prediction: 2 – 1
The odds show this will be a close game, but we see Jeonnam as the form side.
FC Seoul vs. Incheon United @ 5pm
The last game of the game comes from the Seoul World Cup Stadium and is the always interesting Gyeongin Derby between FC Seoul and Incheon United. FC Seoul have lacked form recently in the league picking up just 2 points from their last 3 games. However they looked solid in the cup easily beating FC Anyang. Incheon United are sadly sat at the bottom of the league (similar story to last season). They’ve shown heart to come from behind to draw a couple of times this season, but lack strength in depth.
Prediction: 3 – 1
It’s a derby so we’d be surprised if there weren’t a few cards. Seoul at home are solid and Incheon at the moment sadly aren’t a match, at least on paper.

The league table after just seven games has Gyeongnam topping the table, followed by Busan I’Park, Bucheon 1995 and Asan Mugunghwa who currently fill the playoff places. Suwon FC, FC Anyang and Ansan Greeners follow close behind. Daejeon Citizen and Seoul E-Land are already a little off the pace. Finally we have Seongnam FC who still sit at the bottom.
K League Challenge 2017 Previews & Predictions (Saturday April 22nd – Round 8)
Here are brief previews and predictions for this Saturday’s K League Challenge games;
FC Anyang vs. Bucheon 1995 @ 3pm
The first of Saturdays games features 6th placed FC Anyang who have won 3 from 4 in the league, but lost during the week in cup 2-0 against FC Seoul. They take on 3rd placed Bucheon 1995, 3 wins and a draw recently in the league. But they beat Jeonbuk Hyundai during the week in the cup.
Prediction: 1 – 2
We could see this going either way but based in recent form we’re siding with Bucheon.
Asan Mugunghwa vs. Seongnam FC @ 3pm
The second game comes from Asan who play their 3rd home game in 8 days. Mugunghwa beat Ansan last weekend and then won in the cup during the week against Ajou University. Seongnam also won in the cup during the week. However in the league they’ve drawn 2 and lost 5 so far this season.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Asan strong at the back and going forward. Seongnam weak attacking, unpredictable at the back. Therefore Asan to win.

Busan should be slight favorites here but it will be a close game.
