K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Wednesday May 3rd – Round 9)

Moving onto the football, here are our extra-brief previews and predictions for this Wednesdays 6 games;

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Jeju United @ 3pm

Game Number 1 takes place at the Jeonju Civil Stadium as leader Jeonbuk Hyundai host 2nd placed Jeju United. Both sides lost this past weekend, it was Jeonbuk’s first league defeat of the season and certainly a bit of a shock. Jeju lost for the second time in 3 weeks and seem to be tired due to ACL action.
Prediction:  2 – 1
Jeonbuk overall have been the team to beat this season especially at home. Add in Jeju United’s weak away form over the years it looks like it’s Jeonbuk’s to lose.
+Game of Day+ This is our highlight game of the day and therefore we’ll be covering it in extra detail via our Twitter Page.

Gwangju vs. Gangwon @ 3pm

Game Number 2 features two sides battling it out down in the bottom half of the table, Gwangju and Gangwon. Gwangju picked up a surprise victory at the weekend against reigning champions FC Seoul. Gangwon lost this weekend, their 2 in as many weeks.
Prediction:  1 – 1
Despite Gwangju beating Seoul this past weekend we see this being a very even game and a draw the likely outcome.

Sangju Sangmu vs. Incheon United @ 3pm

Game Number 3 comes from the Sangju Civic Stadium as Sangju Sangmu host bottom side Incheon United. Sangju Sangmu have won 2 on the bounce pushing them up into 3rd place. Incheon on the other hand haven’t won all season and now lost 4 games straight.
Prediction:  2 – 0
We’d like to see Incheon win, but the form book gives a big edge to Sangju.

FC Seoul vs. Jeonnam Dragons @ 3pm

Game Number 4 takes place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. FC Seoul host Jeonnam Dragons. FC Seoul lost for only the second time in the league this season at the weekend capping a disappointing week. Jeonnam Dragons on the other hand won for the 3 game on the bounce and are the league highest scorers so far.
Prediction:  2 – 2
FC Seoul at home sometimes have a 12th man… and therefore we’re siding with a draw.

Suwon Bluewings vs. Pohang Steelers @ 3pm

Game Number 5 comes from the Suwon World Cup Stadium as Suwon Bluewings host Pohang Steelers. Suwon Bluewings won on the road against Jeju United on Sunday making it 2 wins from 2 and pushing them into the top half. Pohang Steelers have slumped in recent weeks losing back to back games to Jeonbuk and Sangju.
Prediction:  2 – 0
Suwon are the in-form side and will start the game as favorites.

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Daegu @ 3pm

Game Number 6 sees Ulsan Hyundai take on Daegu. Ulsan Hyundai won for the 1st time in 4 games at the weekend beating bottom of the league Incheon United. Daegu also won this past weekend claiming a shock 2-1 win over reigning champions FC Seoul. Both sides have been inconsistent this season and so this could be a sleeper.
Prediction:  2 – 1
Ulsan without the ACL to think about can focus on claiming up the table, and we see them narrowly edging this one.
