Attention shifts away from the K League to the only domestic cup in South Korea the Korean FA Cup. This is the 5th Round stage and when sides start to take it seriously. Some sides will focus on the league and field weaken sides, whilst others can see the magic of the cup and possible big games further along in the competition. Korean FA Cup 2017 Update

The Korean Cup started earlier this year with a mixture of K3 League, University and Amateur sides entering, they’ve been reduced down and are joined by the Professional sides from the Korean National League and K League Challenge joined during the 3rd round stage of the competition. The big boys from the K League Classic joined in the last round.

Korean FA Cup 2017 5th Round Fixtures and Preview (Wednesday May 17th)

The Korean FA Cup 2017 3rd Round games are as follows;
Key – Purple = K League Classic (8), Blue = K League Challenge (6), Green = National League (1), Red = K3 League (1).

Pocheon FC vs. Mokpo City @ 3pm
Gyeongnam vs. Ulsan Hyundai @ 7pm
Daejeon Citizen vs. Jeonnam Dragons @ 7pm
Gangwon vs. Seongnam FC @ 7pm
Gwangju vs. Asan Mugunghwa @ 7pm
Bucheon 1995 vs. Sangju Sangmu @ 7.30pm
FC Seoul vs. Busan I’Park @ 7.30pm
Tuesday June 6th 2017
Jeju United vs. Suwon Bluewings @ 7pm

The tie of the round is between Challenge leaders Gyeongnam hosting Ulsan Hyundai. Also we have the all non-KLeague clash between Pocheon FC and Mokpo City on Wednesday afternoon. Plus giant killers Bucheon 1995 host Sangju Sangmu and Busan I’Park travel to FC Seoul.

Sadly due to the number of fixtures and a lack of information on each side it’s difficult to write predictions or previews for each game at this stage of the competition.

Also Jeju Bluewings v Suwon Bluewings has been moved to the June National Holiday due to the U20 World Cup.
