Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our First for June 2017.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, this week we’ve gone for the new release from Girl’s Generation member Hyoyeon with a song titled “Wannabe“. It was released on YouTube on Thursday June 1st 2017. Here are our reasons for choosing “Wannabe” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is well produced and features the expected strong vocals from Hyoyeon, plus the nice addition of San E.
- Secondly the video is simple and matches the lyrics with it’s fighting/boxing concept.
- Finally Hyoyeon had success last year with the solo release “Mystery” and this should also do well.
- On the negative side; it sounds a little 2NE1.
