K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Wednesday June 28th – Round 17)

Moving onto the days action, here are our brief previews and predictions for this Wednesdays 6 games;

Jeonnam Dragons vs. FC Seoul @ 7pm

The first game of the day is between two sides maybe surprised to be in the bottom half Jeonnam and Seoul. Jeonnam Dragons won at the weekend meaning that they’ve taken 7 points from their last 4 games. FC Seoul on the other hand lost to Sangju at home on Sunday evening and their only win recently was in the super match.
Prediction:  2 – 1
Both sides inconsistent and unpredictable. Giving Jeonnam the nod but it is a close game on paper.

Sangju Sangmu vs. Ulsan Hyundai @ 7pm

The second game of the day is an interesting game between 2nd placed Ulsan Hyundai and 8th placed Sangju Sangmu. Sangju beat FC Seoul on the road to make it 5 points from their last 3 games. Ulsan Hyundai were beaten at home by bottom side Incheon United at the weekend, but didn’t lose much ground on leaders Jeonbuk.
Prediction:  2 – 1
We’re going against the form book and siding with the army side Sangju Sangmu.

Daegu vs. Suwon Bluewings @ 7.30pm

The first of the 7.30 kick offs sees Daegu hosting Suwon Bluewings. Daegu held leaders Jeonbuk at the weekend, and are now undefeated in 4 (however 3 were draws). Suwon Bluewings suffered last heartbreak letting a 2 goal lead slip against Gangwon, a week ago this hammered Gwangju on the road 3-0.
Prediction:  0 – 1
A narrow win for Suwon could be the more probable outcome.

Gangwon vs. Gwangju @ 7.30pm

Game number 4 of the evening comes from Gangwon-Do and features Gangwon and Gwangju. Gangwon are flying high currently, and completed an surprise comeback on Sunday to draw 3-3 against Suwon Bluewings. Gwangju fell to the bottom of the league at the weekend and haven’t won since the end of April. Expect a low turnout for this one.
Prediction:  1 – 0
Gangwon are solid at home, whilst Gwangju are weak away and don’t often score.

Pohang Steelers vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai @ 7.30pm

The 5th game of the day comes from the Steelyard as Pohang Steelers host league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai. Pohang hammered lowly Incheon a week ago, but then crashed to a disappointing defeat to Jeju United. Jeonbuk have won 3 from 4, but we held at the weekend at home but 10th placed Daegu.
Prediction:  1 – 1
A draw seems the likely outcome, but honestly either side could nick this one.

Jeju United vs. Incheon United @ 8pm

The the final game of the evening comes from the holiday island of Jeju, as Jeju United host Incheon United. Jeju United bounced back from recent defeats to win at the weekend easily beating Pohang. Incheon United also won at the weekend, just their second win of the season.
Prediction:  2 – 0
Despite improving at the weekend we see Incheon losing on Wednesday evening to Jeju.
