A very busy July in the K League Classic comes to an end this weekend ahead of a short break. Saturday’s games all take place in the South of the Nation, with importance at both of the top and bottom. The highlight game is maybe the 2nd trip to Ulsan for Incheon within a month. With sides needing a win for very different reasons. Previews and Predictions for all of Saturdays games below;

K League Classic 2017 League Table Update

Jeonbuk Hyundai currently top the table 3 points ahead of Ulsan Hyundai, who in turn are 2 points ahead of Suwon Bluewings. Jeju, Seoul and Gangwon complete a very tight top half. Pohang Steelers are 5 points adrift from the top 6. Jeonnam Dragons and Sangju Sangmu are a little behind them. Daegu, Incheon United and finally Gwangju are the 3 sides currently adrift and in the relegation battle.

K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Saturday July 22nd – Round 22)

Moving onto the days action, here are our brief previews and predictions for this Saturdays 3 games;

Gwangju vs. Jeonnam Dragons @ 7pm

The first game of the day is between two bottom half teams, bottom side Gwangju and Jeonnam Dragons. Gwangju have lost 3 games straight and despite the recent signing of Northern Ireland International Niall McGinn they are in trouble at the moment. Jeonnam haven’t been doing much better with only 1 win in 5 games, but they have drawn 3 of those games.
Prediction:  1 – 1
Very even game on paper, and therefore we’re siding with a draw.

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Incheon United @ 7pm

The second game of the day is between 2 sides having very different seasons. High flying Ulsan Hyundai and struggling Incheon United. Ulsan have won their last 3 games on the bounce and their last defeat was to league leaders Jeonbuk. Incheon United were hammered during the week 5-1 to FC Seoul and will be looking to ring the changes and bounce back. These sides played at the end of last month with Incheon winning 2-1.
Prediction:  2 – 0
Ulsan will be the favorites to win this one.

Jeju United vs. Pohang Steelers @ 7pm

The the final game on Saturday comes from the Holiday Island of Jeju and is between Jeju United and Pohang Steelers. Jeju have been improving recently with 2 wins from their last 3 games. Pohang Steelers on the other hand have lost their last 3 games, including a shock 3-0 defeat to 10th place Daegu on Wednesday.
Prediction:  2 – 1
Jeju United will be the favorites to win this one based on recent form.

K League Challenge 2017 League Table Update

The league table at this point has Gyeongnam topping the table 7 points clear, followed by Busan I’Park. The an 5 point gap to Asan Mugunghwa and Bucheon 1995 who currently fill the other playoff places. Suwon, Seongnam and FC Anyang are close behind. Then there’s a gap to Ansan, Seoul and finally Daejeon who are 2 points adrift.

K League Challenge 2017 Predictions (Saturday July 22nd – Round 22)

Here are predictions for this Saturday’s K League Challenge game:

Ansan Greeners vs. Daejeon Citizen @ 7pm

Prediction: 2 – 1
Bottom of the table clash, both sides needing a win to kick-start their seasons. A draw looks most likely, however we’re siding with a Ansan win.
