Korean FA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals Fixtures and Preview (Wednesday August 9th)

The Korean FA Cup 2017 3rd Round games are as follows;

Jeonnam Dragons vs. Busan I’Park – 7pm

The early game of the day is between Classic side Jeonnam Dragons and Challenge team Busan I’Park. Jeonnam have previous won the cup 3 times, however now of those recently. They’ve been average in the league, and are a little above the relegation battle. Busan I’Park have one FA Cup Title to their name and are playing well currently in the Challenge and are in 2nd place at the moment.

Prediction: Jeonnam Dragons 1-1 Busan I’Park (Jeonnam to win in Extra Time, maybe Pens)

Suwon Bluewings vs. Gwangju – 7.30pm

The first of two all K League Classic games as Suwon Bluewings host Gwangju. Suwon Bluewings have looked impressive recently in the league and have started to break into the title picture. Gwangju sadly aren’t doing so well and are currently bottom of the league. These sides played each other at the weekend with Suwon winning 1-0.

Prediction: Suwon Bluewings 2-1 Gwangju

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Sangju Sangmu – 7.30pm

The second all K League Classic match features Ulsan Hyundai and Sangju Sangmu. Ulsan are currently in the title race but would love to finally win the FA Cup, the only title they haven’t held. Sangju Sangmu have only won the Challenge before and a FA Cup title would be a shock, they’ve lost 7 from their last 8.

Prediction: Ulsan Hyundai 3-1 Sangju Sangmu

Seongnam FC vs. Mokpo City – 8pm

The Final game of the evening features K League Challenge side Seongnam FC and National League side Mokpo City. Two time cup winners Seongnam were relegated from the Classic last season, and after a poor start to the season have improved recently and are currently in the playoff places. Mokpo City hadn’t made it past the 3rd round before this season and have benefited from a kind draw, this being their first K League opposition so far.

Prediction: Seongnam FC 2-0 Mokpo City
