K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Sunday August 13th – Round 26)

Moving onto the days action, here are our brief previews and predictions for this Sundays 3 games;

Gwangju vs. Daegu @ 7pm

The first game of the day is a relegation 6-pointer between bottom side Gwangju and 10th placed Daegu. Gwangju were knocked-out of the cup after the week, but did take Suwon Bluewings to extra time. In the league they’ve only one win in recent weeks. Daegu have picked up 7 points from their last 4 game and have created a small amount of breathing room above the relegation zone.
Prediction:  1 – 1
Both sides could win, but it’s difficult to say who will. Overall this looks like a draw on paper at least.

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Pohang Steelers @ 7pm

The second game of the day is the South East Coast Derby between Ulsan Hyundai and Pohang Steelers. Ulsan Hyundai are having a strong season the won comfortably in the cup during the week, and before that beat leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai in the league. Pohang have only 1 win in 6 and that was over bottom side Gwangju.
Prediction:  2 – 0
This should be Ulsan’s to lose, they will start as clear favorites.

Gangwon vs. Jeju United @ 7pm

The the final game on Sunday comes from the Ski Jumping Stadium over in Gangwon-Do. It sees Gangwon hosting Jeju United. Gangwon snapped a 3 game losing run by beating Sangju Sangmu and are still in the top half, but only just. Jeju United have won 3 of their last 4 games, but were held to a dull 0-0 draw by Incheon United last weekend.
Prediction:  1 – 2
We’re siding with Jeju to continue their strong recent run of form.
