A slightly smaller round of games on Sunday in the K League Classic with more of a focus on the bottom as all 4 sides are currently in the bottom half and 4 deep in the relegation battle. K League Classic 2017 League Table Update

Jeonbuk Hyundai currently top the table 4 points ahead of Ulsan Hyundai. Suwon Bluewings are currently in the final Champions League spot. Jeju, Seoul and Gangwon complete a very tight top half. Pohang Steelers are 3 points behind the top 6. Jeonnam Dragons are 2 points behind them. Daegu, Sangju Sangmu, Incheon United and finally Gwangju complete the table and are the 4 sides deep in the relegation battle.

K League Classic 2017 Previews & Predictions (Sunday August 19th – Round 27)

Moving onto the days action, here are our brief previews and predictions for this Sundays 2 games;

Incheon United vs. Pohang Steelers @ 7pm

The first game of the day comes from the Incheon Football Stadium and features 11th placed Incheon United and 7th placed Pohang Steelers. Incheon United won for just the 4th time this season last weekend beating Sangju. Prior to that they’d won 2 and drawn 2. Pohang Steelers have drawn their last 2 games and could jump back into the top half with a win on Sunday afternoon.
Prediction:  1 – 1
Evenly matched based on recent form and therefore we see this ending in a draw.

 

 

Daegu vs. Sangju Sangmu @ 7pm

The final game on Sunday is a key game just above the relegation zone as Daegu host Sangju Sangmu. Daegu have won 3 of their last 5 games and jumped ahead of Sangju last weekend. Despite a strong start to the season Sangju Sangmu had lost their last 6 league games on the bounce and crashed out of the cup.
Prediction:  2 – 0
Daegu will be slight favorites to win this one based on recent form.

Sunday evening also features a couple of games from the K League Challenge. Daejeon Citizen host Seoul E-Land, whilst Asan Mugunghwa travel to Suwon FC.

K League Challenge 2017 League Table Update

The league table at this point has Gyeongnam topping the table now 11 points clear, followed by Busan I’Park. The an 8 point gap to Asan Mugunghwa and Bucheon 1995 who currently fill the other playoff places. Seongnam FC, Suwon and FC Anyang are close behind. Then there’s a gap to Ansan, Seoul E-Land and Daejeon Citizen who all look too far away from the playoff places now.

K League Challenge 2017 Predictions (Sunday August 20th – Round 25)

Here are predictions for this Sunday’s K League Challenge games:

Daejeon Citizen vs. Seoul E-Land @ 7pm

Prediction: 2 – 1
Despite being the bottom 2 these sides have shown improved form recently. However Seoul are weak away and so we’re siding with Daejeon.

Suwon FC vs. Asan Mugunghwa @ 7pm

Prediction: 0 – 1
Suwon have lost 3 games on the bounce and were hammered by Ansan last week. Therefore we see a win for 3rd placed Asan.
