The international break continues for the K League Classic (apart from Jeju United vs. Gwangju) and therefore focus is on the 2nd tier and the K League Challenge. The 28th round of the season is spread over this weekend with 3 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The highlight game is on Saturday and between table toppers Gyeongnam and the surprise in-form side Seoul E-Land. Predictions for all 5 games below;
K League Challenge 2017 League Table Update
The league table at this point has Gyeongnam topping the table now 13 points clear, followed by Busan I’Park. There is an 9 point gap to Asan Mugunghwa and Bucheon 1995 who currently fill the other playoff places. Seongnam FC close behind. FC Anyang, Suwon FC and now Seoul E-Land are a little off the playoff race. Then there’s a gap to Ansan and Daejeon Citizen who all look too far away from the playoff places now.
K League Challenge 2017 Predictions (Saturday September 2nd / Sunday September 3rd – Round 28)
Here are predictions for this Saturday’s K League Challenge games:
Suwon vs. Seoul E-Land @ 7pm
Prediction: 0 – 1
Suwon are really lacking form, whilst Seoul E-Land are the league in-form side. Therefore Seoul E-Land will be slight favorites to win despite being the away side.
FC Anyang vs. Gyeongnam @ 7pm
Prediction: 1 – 2
Anyang have only won twice since May and have slipped out of the playoff race. League leaders Gyeongnam will therefore be favorites to win this one.
Seongnam FC vs. Ansan Greeners @ 7pm
Prediction: 3 – 1
Seongnam have recovered from a poor start to the season and are now in the playoff places. They will be favorites to win over struggling Ansan Greeners.
Here are predictions for this Sunday’s K League Challenge games:
Bucheon 1995 vs. Asan Mugunghwa @ 6pm
Prediction: 1 – 1
A clash between evenly matched sides, who might cancel each other out. This will also be played behind closed doors due to Bucheon 1995 crowd trouble a few weeks ago.
Busan I’Park vs. Daejeon Citizen @ 7pm
Prediction: 2 – 1
2nd placed Busan should have the edge over bottom side Daejeon Citizen.

Gwangju vs. Jeju United
This game was postponed from earlier in the season due to Jeju United’s run in the Asian Champions League. A few players will be missing from both sides due to International Call-ups but the squads overall are still there.
Gwangju vs. Jeju United @ 7pm
The only K League Classic game of the weekend is the delayed game between bottom side Gwangju and 3rd placed Jeju United. Gwangju have had a tough season and have lost their last 4 games on the bounce. Also winger McGinn is away with the Northern Ireland national team. Jeju United have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games and are still in the title race moving into the closing months of the season. A win could take them to only 4 points off leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Jeju will be favorites heading into this one against bottom of the league Gwangju.
