Hite Jinro FC – Part 19: 2019 K3League R20-28 + FA Cup Run

Hite Jinro FC – 2019 K3 League R20-28

The post split part of the season had a mixed beginning with 2 wins but also 2 defeats. But then we finished strong with 1 draw and 4 wins from our final 6 games, finishing the season in a record high of 3rd. This strong finish booked us a spot in the playoffs with a place in the N-League on offer.

Here are highlights from the 2019 K3 League R20-28;

K3 League 2019 Playoffs

The playoffs started well with a comfortable 2-0 win over Jeonnam Younggwang. We then sealed our place in the final limiting Jeonnam in the 2nd leg and drawing 1-1, therefore winning 3-1 on agg. The final was much tougher, with a close 1-1 draw in the 1st leg. Followed was another close game which went into extra time. Sadly a penalty cost us on the day and yet another season in the K3 League is on the cards.

Highlights from the playoff games;

Korean FA Cup 2019

The highlight of the 2019 season was a magical FA Cup run which saw us make it all the way to the Semi-Finals. On-route we knocked out 2 K League sides in the shape of Pohang Steelers and Ulsan Hyundai. We also beat Haksung High School & Korean Air Force in the earlier rounds plus a 4-0 win over fellow K3 League side Mokpo City.
In the semi-final we fell to another K League side Seongnam FC. All-in-all it was a great run and proved there is still some magic in the Korean FA Cup.
