The AFC Champions League Group Stages are already close to the half way point. Some sides have impressed, whilst others have work to do. Week 3 is an all Korea v China / K League v Chinese Super League affair. Here are details on week 3 of the ACL2018.
Reminder that this season I’m taking a long streamlined approach to the ACL due to other commitments and therefore focuses just on Predictions, and only for games including K League sides. However I’ll take and like previews for other sites when possible.
AFC Champions League Group Stage: Week Three Fixtures & Predictions
Tuesday March 6th
Jeonbuk Hyundai 2 – 1 Tianjin Quanjian
I think Jeonbuk should have the edge here at home. They’ve won both of their ACL games and beat Ulsan in the league at the weekend. Tianjin however won’t be an easy game. They are 2nd in the group and won their opening league game of the season 4-0 on the road.

Guangzhou Evergrande 1 – 1 Jeju United
I’ve gone for a draw in this one. Guangzhou have drawn their opening two ACL group games and lost in the Guangzhou derby at the weekend 5-4. So they’ll be defensive heading into this one. Jeju have 4 points from their opening 2 ACL games and seemed to be resting a little in the league game against Seoul last Thursday.

Wednesday March 7th
Suwon Bluewings 1 – 0 Shanghai Shenhua
I’ve given Suwon the narrow edge here. Suwon suffered a shock defeat in the league on Thursday at home to Jeonnam and you’d hope that they’ve learnt from that. Shanghai Shenhua haven’t have a good start to 2018 with 2 draws and 2 defeats in all competitions, which is a key reason why I’ve sided with Suwon.
Shanghai SIPG 2 – 1 Ulsan Hyundai
I’ve gone for Shanghai SIPG here. Shanghai have won both of their ACL group games including a 4-1 victory over Melbourne. They then went a won their opening league game 8-0! Ulsan on the other hand lost their opening league game of the season, but have 4 points from the opening 2 ACL games. So it will be close, but at home Shanghai should have the edge.
