The 2018 K League 1 has it’s first of many mid-week rounds of the 2018 season on Wednesday Evening. All 12 sides are in action, with the highlight game being between surprise early league leaders Gyeongnam and defending champions Jeonbuk Hyundai. Slightly briefer than normal Previews plus Predictions below;

K League 1: Wednesday April 11th 2018 Preview / Predictions

There are 6 games in the K League 1 on Wednesday Evening;

FC Seoul vs. Pohang Steelers (7.30pm)

I’ve sided with Pohang in this one. FC Seoul have had a poor start to the 2018 and labored to a dull 0-0 draw in the SuperMatch at the weekend. Whilst Pohang have started the season strongly with 3 wins from 5, only losing for the first time season at the weekend against defending champions Jeonbuk Hyundai.

Prediction: 0 – 2

Gyeongnam vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai (7.30pm)

The top two clash in the game and I’ve gone with a draw in this one. Gyeongnam have shocked everyone by winning 4 and drawing 1 of their opening 5 games and currently sit at the top of the K League 1. However Jeonbuk Hyundai are close behind them with 4 wins from 5, only losing week 2 against Incheon. So it seems like a draw is the likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Daegu vs. Ulsan Hyundai (7.30pm)

In game three on Wednesday evening I’ve given the edge to Ulsan. Daegu and Ulsan are level at the bottom of the table both on 3 points. Daegu have drawn 3 of their 5 games, however they’ve struggled in front of goal. Ulsan won for the first time this season, and seem to be bringing some of their ACL form into the K League. Therefore I see Ulsan winning this one.

Prediction: 1 – 3

Jeonnam Dragons vs. Jeju United (7.30pm)

Jeonnam and Jeju are 7th and 8th in the table at the moment. Jeonnam haven’t won since the opening day of the season, however Jeju have struggled on their travels and seem tired at the moment due to their failed ACL campaign. It will be a close game, and I see it being decided by a single goal.

Prediction: 1 – 0

Incheon United vs. Sangju Sangmu (7.30pm)

The final 7.30 kick off is between Incheon United and Sangmu Sangmu. Incheon are up in 6th and undefeated since the opening weekend, however 3 of those games ended in draws. Sangju on the other hand are a few place below them and have only 1 win all season. Therefore I see Incheon edging this one.

Prediction: 2 – 1

Gangwon vs. Suwon Bluewings (8pm)

The final game of the mid-week round is between two top half sides Gangwon and Suwon Bluewings. Gangwon have struggled in recent weeks losing 2 on the bounce, but they did win their opening 3 games. Suwon Bluewings on the other hand haven’t lost since the opening day, but during the Super Match looked tired following 6 ACL games in under 2 months. So I’ve gone for a draw in this one.

Prediction: 2 – 2
