Just a quick post to explain about one of South Korea’s bigger National Holidays Children’s Day or 어린이날. Children’s Day has been a National Holiday in South Korea since the 1970’s and was observed prior to that as well. It’s always on May 5th, unlike some other Korean holidays that follow the lunar calendar and change dates yearly.

These day’s it’s a popular day for children to receive a few gifts and for families to spend some time together. Large companies such as Samsung and Hyundai host events from their employees families.
