Day 4 see sides from Groups E and F start their world cup campaigns. Giants Brazil and Germany are both in action, obvious Korean interest in the latter. The games take place on Sunday afternoon local time, and Sunday evening/Monday morning Korea time. Brief previews and Predictions here;

Predictions World Cup 2018 Group Stage Games (Day 4 / June 17th-18th)

Costa Rica 1-1 Serbia

Group E – Sunday 9pm (Korea Time)

The first game of the day features two slight dark horses in the form of Costa Rica and Serbia. Costa Rica eased through qualifying and had an excellent 2014 world cup, but can they repeat that feat in Russia. Serbia have a solid and gelled squad, they could spring a surprise in this group. Overall I see a draw with both sides focusing on games 2 and 3.

Germany 2-0 Mexico

Group F – Monday 12am/Midnight (Korea Time)

The defending champions from Brazil begin their title defence at midnight on Monday morning. They host Central America powerhouse Mexico. Germany are my favorites to win the whole thing (so they’ll probably lose this one). Overall I see a win for the Germans.

Brazil 2-1 Switzerland

Group E – Monday 3am (Korea Time)

The late game (or early morning game if you’re in Korea) is between giants Brazil and always dangerous Switzerland. Brazil qualified easily and will be tough to beat this summer. Switzerland however have a talented squad and a strong defence. I see a narrow Brazil victory, but it will be a close game.
