The AFC Champions League will discover it’s finalist this week as we enter the 2nd legs of the semi finals. There is just one K League side still in the competition, Suwon Bluewings. Suwon host Japanese to face J-League side Kashima Antlers, who they’ve already played during the group stages and therefore know pretty well. The first leg ended 3-2 to Kashima.

Reminder that this season I’m taking a long streamlined approach to the ACL due to other commitments and therefore focuses just on Predictions, and only for games including K League sides. However I’ll try and link previews for other sites when possible.

Prediction: Suwon Bluewings 2 – 1 Kashima Antlers (agg 4-4 Suwon win on away goals)
Wednesday October 24th 2018 – 2nd Leg
The first leg was surprising open and competitive, Suwon took a quick two goal lead, but couldn’t hold on conceding a couple of late goals. I see this game once again being close and competitive, but both sides being a little more defensively sound. Kashima have the lead coming into the game, but Suwon have two away goals, so it’s an interesting game to call and should be interesting to watch as well.
H2H in 2018; Suwon won 1-0 away, but lost 2-1 at home during the group stages. The first ended 3-2 to Kashima, these results highlight once again how even these sides are.
Overall I see this one ending in a 2-1 with Suwon progressing narrowly to the final on away goals.
