With only two games to go, it’s the business end of the AFC Champions League / ACL2019 group stages. All four K League sides are still in the hunt for a spot in the knockout stages, with both Jeonbuk Hyundai and Ulsan Hyundai currently topping their groups. Here are my predictions for this weeks four games.
This season I’ve kept things simple with the key match date information and a prediction for each game per game week. Fingers crossed if I have time I’ll expand into previews etc as the campaigns progress.
2019 AFC Champions League: K League Club Predictions (Week 5)
Tuesday May 7th 2019;
Ulsan Hyundai vs. Sydney FC
Prediction: 2-1
Beijing Guoan vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai
Prediction: 1-1
Overall on Tuesday I see Ulsan picking up a win and probably booking a spot in the knockout stages. Whilst Jeonbuk maybe only draw, but that’s a solid result over in China.
Wednesday May 8th 2019;
Daegu FC vs. Melbourne Victory
Prediction: 3-1
Shandong Luneng vs. Gyeongnam FC
Prediction: 2-0
Overall on Wednesday I see Daegu winning against A-League side Melbourne and giving themselves a strong chance of a place in the last sixteen. However I don’t feel like Gyeongnam will have enough to win over in China based on recent league form.
