It doesn’t seem long ago that France were lifting the 2018 World Cup in Russia beating Croatia in the Final. But a year has past and now qualification is already underway for Qatar 2022 in three years time. South Korea will be looking to make the finals once again, but first they need to progress past the second round of qualifying before the third and final stage.

 

World Cup 2022 – Asian World Cup Qualifying Round 2

The draw for the second round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar look place this past Wednesday and all in all South Korea gained a solid draw. The highlight is of course the local derby against rivals North Korea, but also tough games against Turkmenistan and Lebanon. Plus the potential banana skin facing 201st ranked Sri Lanka.

Here is the full draw, group G is the obvious winner here with four south east Asian nations. South Korea are in group H.

The Fixtures are as follows;

Game 1 – AWAY vs. Turkmenistan on September 10th 2019

Game 2 – HOME vs. Sri Lanka on October 10th 2019

Game 3 – AWAY vs. North Korea on October 15th 2019

Game 4 – AWAY vs. Lebanon on November 14th 2019

Game 5 – HOME vs. Turkmenistan on March 26th 2020

Game 6 – AWAY vs. Sri Lanka on March 31st 2020

Game 7 – HOME vs. North Korea on June 4th 2020

Game 8 – HOME vs. Lebanon on June 9th 2020
