South Korea vs. Sri Lanka – World Cup Qualifier

When; Thursday October 10th 2019, 8pm (Local Time)
Where; Hwaseong Stadium, South Korea
Who; South Korea vs. Sri Lanka

South Korea begun their 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign with a trip to central Asia to face Turkmenistan which they won 2-0. Sri Lanka lost their opening two qualifiers 2-0 to Turkmenistan and then narrowly 1-0 to North Korea.
Overall South Korea will be huge favorites to win this one and it should be a question of by how many? Sri Lanka lost on Saturday 6-0 in a friendly to Malaysia, however Korea will be holding a little back for the game against North Korea next week so five-nil seems a good prediction.

Watch out for; South Korean big name is Son Heung-Min, he might not play the full ninety especially if Korea score early. Kim Shin-wook has been scoring for fun over in the Chinese Super League, so he could be a targetman for Korea on Thursday. For Sri Lanka goalkeeper Weerasinghe Sujan Perera will have a busy night down in Hwaseong, he needs to be at his best to keep out Son & co.

Head-to-Head; These nations have played once before with Korea winning that game.
South Korea 1

Sri Lanka 0

Prediction: South Korea 5-0 Sri Lanka
