Tomorrow Wednesday April 15th 2020 the South Korean Legislative Election will take place. This is one of the first elections worldwide taking place during the COVID19 era. Of course safety has been key in the build up with advice and rules regarding social distancing and personal hygiene surpassing the election news at times.

Today (Tuesday April 14th) South Korea reported just 27 new cases with almost half of those coming from overseas. So thankfully the risks have been reduced, but people will hopefully stay safe and sensible during this election.

This election is for the National Assembly (Legislative), and not the Presidential Election which will take place in the next couple of years.

Finally election day is a public holiday, so government offices, banks, post offices and schools (although they are currently closed due to the virus) will be closed. However private business can still open, they just have to give time for their employees to vote.
