This morning it was confirmed that the South Korean KBO Baseball League will begin on May 5th 2020 (aka Children’s Day) (Yonhap News). The league will start with games being played behind closed doors in order to reduce the risk of COVID19 virus infection, but games will be broadcast live on TV. This move leads the way for the K League (Professional Football/Soccer) to finally start its new season. The rumored date for the K League is May 9th 2020. Also High Schools in areas with limited or no infected could reopen at the same time. All of this is positive news, and hopefully signals a partial return to normality here in South Korea.
It should be noted that if sadly cases do increase again that the KBO Baseball League and other sports will be delayed once again.
